Magnetic Site Studio ("we," "us," "our") designs and builds websites for small businesses. Magnetic Site Studio is operated by Charles Widmer as a sole proprietor. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it.
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number and mailing address.
- Business content you send us or approve for your website, such as photos, logos, text, hours, services and prices.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card or bank account numbers. We receive basic details such as your name, email, the amount paid and the last four digits of your card.
- Messages you send us by email, text or phone.
- Website usage data. Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information when you visit our site, such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed.
- Publicly available business information. To prepare sample websites and reach out to businesses, we may use information a business has already made public, such as its name, address, phone number, hours, reviews and photos posted on its public listings or social media pages.
How we use information
- To build, launch, host and maintain your website
- To create sample websites and contact businesses about our services
- To process payments and send receipts and invoices
- To respond to questions and provide support
- To keep our services secure and meet legal obligations
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers we use to run our business, and only as needed:
- Stripe for payment processing
- Netlify for website hosting
- Google for email
- Domain registrars when registering or connecting your domain
- Booking or calendar tools you ask us to connect to your site
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Email and outreach
If we contact you about our services and you would rather not hear from us, reply "unsubscribe" or email magneticsitestudio@gmail.com and we will stop. If we built a sample website for your business and you would like it removed, ask and we will take it down.
Cookies
Our website does not use advertising cookies. Third-party tools on our pages, such as Stripe checkout, may use cookies needed for them to work securely.
How we protect information
We use reputable providers that encrypt data in transit, protect our accounts with strong passwords and two-step authentication, and limit access to the information needed to do the work. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
How long we keep information
We keep client information for as long as we provide services to you and as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to those requirements.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed.
